High school students grab the mic: The Festival’s radio station

Benjamin Ribout will launch the Festival’s radio station and present his work on podcasting with teenagers.

Benjamin Ribout (France) is putting on a mini editorial team with French-speaking students to cover the Orizont sonor Festival, and to record audio footage. On this occasion, he will present his work to French teachers using sound excerpts from audio creations made by young students. This will be an opportunity to discuss with him the educational value of a podcast club for developing oral expression, critical thinking, media literacy, teamworking, and digital skills.

PROGRAM:

  • Presentation of the workshops conducted with high school students + listening session (40 minutes)
  • Presentation of the festival radio station and of the young people working on the project (20 minutes)
Benjamin Ribout

Benjamin Ribout is a freelance journalist working in print media and radio. Based in Romania for the past twenty years, he collaborate with French-language media outlets such as La Croix, Ouest France, RTS, Radio France, RTBF, Regard la Lettre and Le Courrier des Balkans. He also run workshops on journalism for all types of audiences, with a particular focus on sound work. For ten years, he also organised an environmental film festival in the Danube Delta.
